3 orientations about Awaken Your Modern Mammal:
1) It's about way more than tech. It's about waking up from our collective slumber and the "walking dead" energy we have postured as modern humans. It’s about the speed, velocity, and volume of information we aren't yet adapted to receive and the way our relational field and nervous system set points have shifted. Tech is part of the situation along with the other isms: capitalism and colonialism. You will renegotiate your relationship with screens (your way) during this course; more importantly, you will turn toward yourself differently.

2) It isn't anti-tech, nor is it pro-tech. It's about getting sober and grounded about its role in your life because "it" is here to stay. It's developing discernment about what you want and what you don't want. Nothing prescriptive. We celebrate each participant's discovery and alignment to their individual values.

​3) It's for female bodies + any other gender body comfortable being in a space full of woman-identified people. Everyone is welcome and please know that the conversation will skew in the direction of who shows up. The female body (and nervous system) is hyper-woven with the earth body. We tend to track the collective in our bodies. That means we have historically been (it could be changing) more sensitive and sensing to what is happening around us. Embodiment is a set-point for a female body and, for that reason, it can also feel precarious, dangerous and wildly powerful. It is increasingly critical for female bodies to be rooted to the soil, to each other, to the internal center. For the greater good. All humans are mammals and females have an additional biological layer (even separate from motherhood) that makes them especially mammalian. ​*Because "embodiment" has also been commodified in social media, please also know that, in my space, embodiment doesn't look one way. It isn't performative. It doesn't require a type of body, a sexy dance move, or a certain vibe. It is self-sourced.

This course is an organic, living, breathing experience.

Transparency Always: You will have 14 weeks (until July 22) to complete this 6 week course. Why? I believe in pressure as a tool for internal and external change. It's a boundary. It isn't loosey-goosey. It ignites. People are more likely to dive into the course and benefit from it if they know there's an end to it. I've seen that time and time again, and also in my own experience as a participant in courses. We are also fostering collective focus to create collective traction.



About Molly
Molly Caro May is a teacher, author of two acclaimed memoirs, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She has created and facilitated personal narrative and resilience building workshops across the country almost 20 years. Her mission is to democratize expression and bridge together two often separated healing elements: story (top down) and nervous system (bottom up). Attention has been on her attention since the advent of the flip phone. She's part of the generation who grew into young adulthood fully analog. She was raised as a Third Culture Kid in five countries and now lives in forested neighborhood at the base of the mountains in Montana with her husband and two children. Facilitating is her song and she never tires of diving in with a group. She considers herself a mineral-adder and is here for the long haul and for the possibility in humans.
